Trusting in God's Timing: Waiting for Our Children to Know Jesus
Hey there, fellow parents and believers! Today, I want to chat about something close to many of our hearts: waiting on God for our children to come to know Jesus. It's a journey filled with hope, patience, and sometimes, a little frustration. But through it all, there's a profound lesson in trusting God's timing.
As parents, we want the best for our children, especially regarding matters of faith. We pray, we teach, we guide, and we hope that our kids will embrace the love of Christ in their own lives. But what happens when it feels like we're waiting endlessly for that moment to happen?
Let's be real here; waiting is tough. We live in a world of instant gratification where we're used to getting what we want with the click of a button or the swipe of a card. But when it comes to matters of the heart and soul, there's no Amazon Prime for salvation. It takes time, patience, and a whole lot of trust.
What to Do in the Waiting Season
So, what do we do while we're waiting? First and foremost, we keep praying. Prayer is our lifeline to God, and it's how we communicate our hopes, fears, and desires for our children. We pour out our hearts to God, knowing that He hears every word and that His plans are perfect, even when they don't align with our timeline.
Secondly, we live out our faith authentically. Our children are watching us, whether we realize it or not. They see how we handle adversity, how we treat others, and how we lean on God in times of need. Our actions often speak louder than our words, so let's strive to be living examples of Christ's love in everything we do.
It's also essential to surround ourselves and our families with a supportive community of believers. Whether it's through church, small groups, or even close friends, having people who can walk alongside us in our journey of faith makes all the difference. They can offer encouragement, wisdom, and sometimes just a listening ear when we need it most.
And finally, we surrender control. This might be the toughest part, especially for us Type-A personalities who like to have everything neatly planned out. But the truth is, we're not in charge here. God is the author of our stories, including the stories of our children. When we release our grip on trying to control the outcome, we open ourselves up to experiencing the peace and joy that come from trusting in His plan.
So, dear friends, if you're waiting for your children to know Jesus, take heart. You're not alone in this journey, and God is with you every step of the way. Keep praying, live out your faith, lean on your community, and trust in God's perfect timing. He's got this, and He's got your children in the palm of His hand.
Love to Each,
Julia Mateer
