How to Pray For Your Teens Who Don’t Know Jesus

Mamas of teens…this blog is for you! You are seen, cherished, and known. I know the longing in your heart for your children to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior but to also have a thriving relationship with Him. And if your story is similar to mine, there were some hard years where I stayed on my knees, seeking Him for their salvation.

Praying for your children is a privilege. Here are some prompts for praying for your teens. I hope they encourage you as you continue to share and show the love of Jesus to your children.

Prompts For Praying For Your Teens

Strength and Guidance: As a mother praying for your teenage children who may not yet know Jesus, ask for strength and guidance in leading them toward spiritual truth and understanding. Pray for wisdom and discernment to know how best to approach conversations about faith and belief.

Open Hearts: Pray that your teenage children's hearts may be open to the message of Jesus Christ. Ask for divine intervention to soften their hearts and remove any barriers or preconceived notions that may prevent them from embracing the truth of the Gospel.

Positive Influences: Pray for positive influences in your teenage children's lives which can lead them closer to Jesus. Ask for godly mentors, friends, or role models who can provide support, encouragement, and guidance on their spiritual journey.

Patience and Persistence: Pray for patience and persistence as you continue to pray for your teenage children's salvation. Trust in the divine timing and continue interceding on their behalf, knowing that God's plans are perfect and His timing is always right.

Unconditional Love: Pray that your love for your teenage children may reflect the unconditional love of Jesus Christ. Ask for the grace to love them unconditionally, regardless of their beliefs or actions, and to demonstrate Christ's love through your words and actions.

Protection from Negative Influences: Pray for protection for your teenage children from negative influences that may lead them away from Jesus. Ask for divine protection from peer pressure, worldly temptations, and harmful ideologies that may hinder their spiritual growth.

Seeds of Faith: Pray that seeds of faith may be planted in your teenage children's hearts and that they may take root and grow into a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. Ask for divine intervention to water and nurture these seeds, leading to a flourishing faith in God.

Divine Encounter: Pray for a divine encounter with Jesus Christ that will transform your teenage children's lives and draw them into a personal relationship with Him. Ask for a powerful experience of God's presence and love that will ignite a passion for following Jesus wholeheartedly.

Hope and Trust: Conclude your prayers with hope and trust in God's faithfulness to answer your prayers according to His will. Surrender your teenage children into His loving care, knowing that He can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. Remember, He is the ultimate Storyteller, and you can trust Him with your child’s life. He is a good, good Father.
